Who is eligible to be a Member of FCA Inc.?
Membership is open to those who are interested in Cuban Art and Culture.
Any current resident of the province of Manitoba that supports the purpose of our By-laws statement in Article II, Section 2.2.
How to become a Member?
In order to become a Member of FCA INc, please complete the Registration Form and submit your Membership Payment.
- Individual membership dues are $5 per fiscal year for adults.
- There is not a membership fee for kids 17 years old and younger
- Payment can be sent by e-transfer to: friendsofthecubanarts@gmail.com

Your Membership Really Matters
We have a growth project that needs everyone’s participation. To those who have already joined, our infinite gratitude. For those who have not yet approached us, we invite you to meet us and participate in our activities.
Rights of Members
Membership is granted after completion and receipt of a membership application and payment. All memberships shall be granted upon a majority vote of the Board.
- Each member shall be eligible to apply for available community funds such as: support, scholarships, etc,
- Each member shall be eligible to get discounts to any fundraising event organized by the Corporation,
- Each member shall be eligible to get free sport, theatre, event tickets, when available,
- Each member shall be eligible to request, when traveling to Cuba, a humanitarian suitcase free of charge, if applicable to the aircraft they are traveling with,
- Each member shall be eligible to invite one guest, free of charge to one of our yearly events. Guest is considered to be parents, grandparents or family members visiting from out of province/country.
- Each member shall be eligible to appoint Board members at the Annual General Meeting,
- Each member shall be eligible to run as an officer, be a committee chair and be part of the Corporation committees,
- Each member shall be eligible to be part of the Folklorama organizing committee and be a youth or adult ambassador to represent our pavilion. When volunteering at the Cuban pavilion as Coordinator of any area, which typically implies a year of volunteer service, FCA Inc covers membership dues,
- Each member shall be eligible to propose activities, events, etc to be included in the yearly budget.
- Members has voting rights at meetings.
Member Responsibilities
1. Members shall volunteer with the Corporation on at least one of our volunteer opportunity categories each year:
- Organize community events: Mother’s and Father’s Day, Christmas/New Year Celebration, Kids events and others,
- Organize community support and fundraising events: socials, BBQs...
- Organize sport related activities: domino, baseball, basketball, volleyball tournaments, etc
- Folklorama,
- Join the Corporation Committees.
2. Members shall attend the Annual General Meeting. Meeting takes place every year in the month of November
Membership Payment Timelines
New memberships are open all year around. Our fiscal year runs from November 1st to October 31st of the following year. Membership benefits are effective per fiscal year.
How is my fee used?
The nominal fee that you pay provides contribution to the operational activities of FCA Inc, including but not limited to website domain, dropbox, paper, printing and mailing expenses, events promotion, annual incorporation registration payment with the Companies Office, accounting expenses to submit annual reporting with the Revenue Canada Agency, Folklorama annual membership, Accounting software, Insurance, etc.

Granted to a Cuban or friend of Cuba families who support the purpose of our organization stayed in our By-laws Article II. Family is considered to be two adults with up to three kids 17 years old or younger.
